Who Am I?

I feel certain that more details will be shared in the future, but here are the bare bones of who I am...

I am a 33 year old wife and mother.  I have lived in the same small town all of my life (except for four years when I attended college and three years when I lived in that college town and taught school.)  I was brought up as an only child in a Christian home with two parents.  We were extremely active in a local church, which along with my parents, did much to shape me into who I am today.  I accepted Christ as my savior and entered into a personal relationship with him when I was six years old.  There have been seasons in my life when I have strayed from His plans for me, but thank goodness for His grace!

I now live in the same small Mississippi town where my husband, Rob, and I grew up.  We both attended Mississippi State University, where he received an engineering degree and I earned my degree in elementary education.  We married in the summer of 2005 and I guess that's where most of the (future) content of this blog really begins.

Ten months after we were married we learned we were expecting our first child.  When our daughter (who I will refer to from here on out as "Baby Doll") was born in December of 2006, God led me to quit my job as a second grade teacher to stay at home.  It was a huge adjustment for us financially and for me personally and professionally.

In 2009, when Baby Doll was two years old, she was joined by a little sister, who we call "Bitty."  They are both incredibly girlie girls and love all things pink and princess.  Life as we knew it was all glitter, and sparkles, and giggles....until 2012.

In 2012, God threw a bouncing baby boy into the mix at our house.  Bitty informed us before his arrival of what SHE would be calling him.  And she has.  And it stuck.  That's what I'll be calling him here on the blog.  "Dipper."

In the fall of that same year, we began homeschooling Baby Doll, who was then five years old and ready for kindergarten.  The decision to homeschool, was long and hard...and one that I fought for a very long time.

Now, in March 2013, I am happily at home.  Rob is happily working for the same company he started with right out of college.  We are actively raising our children in a local church and educating them at home.

So, now you know a little history.  Hopefully, you'll stick around for the rest.
